Some of the largest airports in the world are located in the Middle East. You must know that three of the biggest airports are in Saudi Arabia and they are continuously growing. While some of the busiest airports are still using one runway, some of the large airports have six runways. Below is the list of some of the biggest airports in this planet.

1. King Fahd International Airport KFIA
The airport is located at Damman in Saudi Arabia covers a massive 485 square miles and it is bigger thanthe country of Bahrain. Up to today, KFIA is still one of the largest airports in the world.
2. Montreal-Mirabel International Airport (YMX).
This large airport belongs to Canada covers 221 square miles. The YMX airport is about 24 miles in the northwest of Montreal. Before 1999, this airport is the largest in the world. The second largest airport in the planet has a couple of runways.
3. King Khaled International Airport (KKIA)
Founded in 1983, KKIA covers about 137 square miles of space in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. It provides two runways parallel, a royal gallery, a mosque, a shopping center and separate complex of air cargo.
4. Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International (DWC-AMI).
The airport is still under construction. When the project is finished in 2017, it will have six 2.7-mile-long runways. It also provides an underground parking that can load up to 100.000 cars. DWC-AMI will handle up to 120 million passengers each year that will make it the world’s busiest airport in the world.
5. Denver International Airport (DIA).
As one of the five largest airports in the world, DIA covers 85 square miles of space and has six runways.
